Description
The 1822 Vaudoise bottle
Like wines, bottles have origins and families that follow rivers: the Rhine, the Garonne or the Saône, and we have the Rhône.
It was in the early 19th Century that the character traits asserted themselves, when the bottle started travelling and being blown in large quantities.
The continuity of our traditions was broken for industrial reasons and because of the search for novelty, ignoring any cultural reference. Wine is not merely a product, as our neighbours have long understood. There is the Neuchâtel bottle, the Burgundy one, the bottles for Château-Châlon, Côtes-du-Rhône, Alsace and many others.
